JPE is a small, independent family business located in the hills of beautiful Pennsboro, West Virginia. JPE Hardwood was established in 1984 by the late owner,  James Paul Edmisten and his wife Brenda. After Jim's sudden illness and passing in 2017, a decision was made by Brenda and their daughters to continue operations.  JPE, now a women owned and operated business, continues operations of manufacturing filter sock and providing many other erosion control products to  customers in the Northern Appalachian Region. In January 2021, JPE made it official by becoming a member of the National Women's Business Enterprise.
